“Brides of Culture is an African Caribbean Bridal Exhibition for brides and grooms to be, who are looking for a little more than what is available in the mainstream in the UK”
Hello my lovelies! Last weekend I finally got to attend the Brides of Culture Exhibition. I say finally because a year ago I had booked tickets, but had not realised that just two weeks before the event was to take place I would actually be on a plane flying to the Big Apple.
The Brides of Culture Wedding exhibition is now in its eighth installment and attracts brides from across Africa, the Caribbean and Asia. Suppliers on the day ranged from cake designers, caterers, stationery designers, make-up artists, photographers and so much more. I met with some great wedding suppliers and the lovely masterminds behind them……stay tuned for some exclusive guest posts in the near future!!
It’s been a while since I graced you all with a beautiful wedding find in ‘Weddings We Adore’. So, today I’ll be doing just that with this glamorous wedding from Style Me Pretty and Polly Alexandre Fine Photography. The stylish affair incorporated a colour scheme of chic black and white, and hints of light pink.
Head over to Style Me Pretty to find out more details on this glam wedding. I bet you never would have guessed that this was a D.I.Y wedding. Yes, that’s right, a glamorous D.I.Y wedding, including those fabulous heels.
Will you be indulging in any DIY for your wedding?
My favourite season is unfortunately long gone and it’s probably safe to say that fall is now upon us. Now as much as I looooove summer I do look forward to revamping my wardrobe with all of the new trends. One thing that has got me slightly (just slightly) in the mood for the cold weather has been showcased all over the London Fashion Week 2013 runways, and that is the ‘oxblood red’. Not exactly the best name for a such a gorgeous shade, but it seems that last falls popular colour has made yet another appearance!
Models walking in the Burberry Prorsum Autumn/Winter ’13 show sported glossy oxblood nails, Christopher Kane showcased appliqué flower dresses, Victoria Beckham incorporated the rich shade into her accessories, and House of Holland rocked it in a number of ways, from pencil skirts to blouses, in his ‘Shaken Not Stirred’ collection.
You can take this trend through to your wedding in so many ways. Don’t be scared to experiment with this colour! However, for those of you who want to play it safe take note from the wedding bouquet below and opt for pairing the shade with creams, off-whites and dark greens.
What do you think of this season’s Oxblood red? Will you be incorporating this shade into your wedding?
