Mariana Hardwick Wedding Collection: Les Annees Folles

I am completely in love with this wedding dress collection from Mariana Hardwick titled ‘Les Annees Folles’. It was inspired by the 1920s and 30s, and features gorgeous gowns in luxury fabrics and intricate embellishments. If you love a bit of vintage and a touch of glamour then this collection is just for you!

My favourite has to be the silk ‘Natasha’ gown featuring a beautiful mermaid skirt!

“Over 30 years, the core principles of Mariana Hardwick remain; a strong passion for uncompromised couture craftsmanship, garments to be 100% Australian made in the European inspired Melbourne atelier, and to support the dying art of fine sewing techniques in Australia. Honouring these principles, the label now encourages a greater focus on cutting-edge design, and endeavors to bring into a new high fashion context, while maintaining the reputation of the classic couture bridal house of which it is renowned”

7 ways to add some fun to your wedding day

No doubt, a fun wedding is a memorable wedding! Adding that extra detail and thinking carefully about how you and your guests are going to enjoy yourselves is always something to pay attention to. Below I’ve created a list of ‘7 ways to add some fun to your wedding day’….check it out!

1. Make an Entrance
Make a grand entrance into your wedding reception by planning a relaxed but fun dance routine. Gather your bridesmaids and groomsmen and get them in on the fun too!

2. Music
We all know that music can make or break a party. So there’s no excuse for opting for a sub-standard DJ or band. Always ask for references and try and see/hear what they play/sound like. It’s also always wise to find out how they handle their breaks, as you will still want a good flow of music!

3. Wedding Lounge
Wedding lounges are becoming ever so popular and what makes them great is that they can be customised to your needs. Create a chic area with comfortable seating and cushions for guests that may want to rest their feet from all of the dancing, and they’ll thank you for it.

4. Second outfit
If you want to boogie on down with your guests and party until the very last song, I would suggest having a change of outfit for the evening. You can still look chic and stylish, but also feel more free and relaxed, allowing you to have more fun!

5. Late-Night Snacks
This does not have to cost you a fortune….French fries, burgers, popcorn, doughnuts! The possibilities are endless, and trust me your guests will thank you for it!

6. Plan a Surprise
Surprising your guests can be a great way to make your wedding day more memorable and fun! I’m a big fan of firework displays and you can be sure that they will always make a statement. Why not plan a Firework display for the late evening or have a firework getaway!

7. And last but not least….Hire a Wedding Planner
Wedding planners are no longer just for the rich and famous, and they offer many services to meet your needs. Why not take up a ‘Day of Wedding Management’ service! Your planner can bring all of your ideas together and make sure each one is executed to a high standard on the day, leaving you, your fiancé, family and friends to enjoy the night without having to worry about the coordination of suppliers and the day.
